Meet John
John Cave is a Colorado musician who grew up listening to Bluegrass, Folk, Folk Rock, Rock N’ Roll, especially The Beatles and Gregorian Chant. However, he has been influenced mostly by George Martin, The Beatles producer. What John learned by listening to the arrangements can be felt in his own arrangements of the songs he writes and records. John combines many instruments to provide depth of sound and variety in these arrangements.
John took guitar lessons when he was 14 years old, but all the other instruments are self-taught. John spends most of his time in the studio writing and recording instrumentals, although he enjoys preforming his own music live.
Although he has been writing music for many years, John has recently focused on writing instrumental songs. He draws his inspiration mostly from the great outdoors, especially the Rocky Mountains.
In 2016 / 2017 John wrote and recorded his first instrumental album titled, “Unfinished Journey” on which he plays most of the instruments. The album is a combination of relaxing, light hearted songs, some serious and some that are great with which to take on a road trip. It is being sold and streamed around the world.
John is working on a new project that will take him out of his comfort zone. This is a place we should all go to increase our creativity.
